Andy Griffith grew from a southern boy who sang with dreams of being a preacher to a national treasure. Sit a spell, and re-discover the life of a man who taught us to be a little more American.

After World War II Shaw helped start the International Trade Mart in New Orleans which facilitated the sales of both domestic and imported goods. Russo testified that he had attended a party at the apartment of anti-Castro activist David Ferrie.
He was known locally for his efforts to preserve buildings in New Orleans' historic French Quarter. At the party, Russo said that Lee Harvey Oswald (who Russo said was introduced to him as "Leon Oswald"), David Ferrie, and "Clem Bertrand" (who Russo identified in the courtroom as Clay Shaw) had discussed killing Kennedy.

He came into the game batting .208, having had an awful season in that regard -- but was one home run short of 20. It didn't stop there: Chavez walked, and singles be Jeter and Ichiro brought him home. Chavez would later hit his 15th home run of the season, but the rest isn't really worth reporting. (52 if you count being in 1st place when the Strike of '94 hit, leading to the cancellation of that year's postseason.) Come on you Bombers!New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison prosecuted Clay Shaw on the charge that Shaw and a group of activists, including David Ferrie and Guy Banister, were involved in a conspiracy with elements of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the John F. On March 1, 1969 Shaw was found not guilty on all of the conspiracy charges after the jury deliberated for less than one hour.Despite his acquittal, Shaw's reputation and public image never fully recovered. As a young child, Andy's parents instilled in him a love of three things; The Lord Jesus Christ, music, and telling a good funny story. These three things would become Andy's trademarks the rest of his life.(the birthplace of Andy Griffith) Griffith was raised Baptist and participated in a variety of plays in high school.
