Dozens of Auckland Council Animal Shelter dogs will be looking for love at Victoria Park on Friday 12 February, from 11am to 2pm.
“Some will be looking for lasting relationships, but some are just happy for a casual fling on the day.
“The event aims to find loving homes for many of our dogs and cats,” says Jessica Borg, “and help our shelters in their work of reducing euthanasia rates across NSW.” AWL merchandise and information will be available at the event, as well as a raffle with an incredibly tempting first prize of two nights’ accommodation at the beautiful Daydream Island Resort and Spa.
A new doggy speed dating service has been set up to help Aucklanders find love this Valentine’s Day.
That's why Orange County Animal Services is hosting a special speed dating event Friday to help match some of their loving animals with forever homes.
Speed daters will be able to walk past 80 dog kennels and 50 cat kennels during the event, then when they feel that special spark they can take the cat or dog to one of the interaction areas to see if it really is puppy love at first sight.“There’s no doubt you’ll fall in love with one of our great shelter pets,” Dil Luther, division manager of Orange County Animal Services, said in a press release.
Dogs will be available for walks, pats and chin scratches, and there will be a “Love Booth” where people can have polaroids taken of themselves with some of the doggy stars. I’m an active, sporty guy with a happy-go-lucky outlook on life.
The dogs have posted profiles of themselves, their interests and preferences for a human life partner.
