Is anyone else experiencing a problem with Visual Studio 2008 Intellisense with j Query and jq Modal?
The non-Sizzle selector engine currently does not pass unit tests because it is missing too much essential functionality.
It seems that jq Modal (a j Query plugin for modal dialogs) is breaking j Query Intellisense on my Visual Studio 2008 setup.
Without a reference to jq Modal.js, j Query Intellisense works fine: As soon as I add the reference to jq Modal.js, the Intellisense stops working with this error: Warning 1 Error updating JScript Intelli Sense: …\scripts\jquery-1.3.2-vsdoc.js: ‘j Query.Serialize’ is null or not an object @ 1430:4 To work around the problem, generate the script include tag dynamically so that the Java Script Intellisense engine doesn’t see the jq Modal reference at design time.
To help you get started and before you jump into writing code, be sure to read these important contribution guidelines thoroughly: In order to build j Query, you need to have the latest Node.js/npm and git 1.7 or later.
Earlier versions might work, but are not supported. Linux/BSD users should use their appropriate package managers to install git and Node.js, or build from source if you swing that way. Clone a copy of the main j Query git repo by running: subdirectory, along with the minified copy and associated map file.
And, the site compiles, runs, and publishes perfectly! I believe this is an error caused by the inclusion of the JQuery library and some inability of the Intellisense parser to “play nice in the playground”.
In the spirit of open source software development, j Query always encourages community code contribution. When I look for warnings for my website in VS 2008. Warning --Error updating JScript Intelli Sense: D:\Canarys\HRi S\Source\Scripts\jquery-1.4.2js: Object doesn't support this property or method @ 33:0Please suggest the way to resolve this also let me know will this warning causes any performance issue... Even after adding the Intelli Sense file for JQuery, you might still get an error as below, "Error updating JScript Intelli Sense: jquery-1.3-vsdoc.js: 'j Query.Serialize' is null or not an object @ 1416:4" Atleast in my case the reason was, i was using a JQuery-UI library and it was due to a conflict between the JQuery and JQuery-UI library.“Error updating JScript Intelli Sense: jquery-1.3.2.min-fds90..js: Object doesn't support this property or method @ 9” I have the hot fix installed and at some point it has worked but I don’t think the .vsdoc file plays well with others as the only other thing that I can think of is that I use the j Query UI library along with a table sorting library.I don’t really need it but it’s nagging me to the point of madness not being able to get it working! For Windows, you have to download and install git and If you want to create custom build or help with j Query development, it would be better to install grunt command line interface as a global package: Special builds can be created that exclude subsets of j Query functionality.
