What do you do when you want to make the most of your online dating experience? We met with coach and author Rebecca Perkins to find out more about Irresistible Dating Profiles – a brand new programme changing the face of online dating.Well, to cut a long story short, I’d come through a divorce, been single, had some fun and I was ready for a committed relationship. With so many people of our generation turning to online dating to meet a new partner how do you write a profile that will stand out from the crowd?
But I wasn’t prepared to spend my entire free time reading profiles, going on dates that went nowhere, and generally wasting my time. I worked with a friend who is also a writer and she guided me in creating a profile that was to become irresistible!
I sat down and coached myself as I would a client and asked myself…What did I want? I wanted to write something that was authentically me, I wanted to appeal to the types of men that would get me.
But we’re sure that if you talk to just about any of your single-and-looking friends, you’ve heard comments like “They look kinda cute, but the photos make it hard to tell for sure.” There’s also similar angst around what photos to post on their own profiles.
We reached out to the experts at Match and Ok Cupid to find out exactly what kind of photos get the most attention because, let’s be honest, it’s really mostly about the photos at first.
Along with the new year come new beginnings, and singles all over the world are hoping for one of those beginnings to be new love.
Online dating sites are now one of the most popular ways to meet singles.
You probably didn’t know you were doing this wrong.
(Photo: Zoltan Tombor)Online dating has become a necessary evil of modern-day romance.
Text appeal: Women describing themselves as sweet, ambitious or thoughtful are more likely to attract male attention and receive admiring messages on online dating websites (illustrated), while men who claim they are physically fit or describe themselves as perceptive, passionate or optimistic prove more irresistible to women A study of 12,000 online dating profiles posted on e uk found that women describing themselves as sweet, ambitious or thoughtful are more likely to attract male attention and receive admiring messages.
So fast forward a few years and following on from my involvement as a judge for the UK Dating Awards and having coached people who were dating once more in midlife I realised that if my profile had worked then it would also work for others.
These are my suggestions and what I now work through with clients: Create a Username that grabs attention, don’t be lazy and use your initials followed by a handful of numbers!
